Terence Crawford stopped Yuriorkis Gamboa in the ninth round in Omaha, Nebraska, on Saturday night to retain his WBO lightweight title. Crawford wobbled Gamboa with a left and knocked him down with another left earlier in the ninth, then connected with a right to the chin, prompting referee Gino Rodriguez to call the fight over 2 minutes 53 seconds into the round. It was the fourth time Gamboa went down in the contest.

I don't know what was going on that night. He's always had power and killer instinct in the fights that I've seen.

Sometimes it takes another elite fighter to bring the best out of you.

he looked pathetic in that fight. people were booing. crawford wouldn't get him outta there. this was a showcase fight for him and he bombed.

the dude is overrated. really slow footspeed and doesn't move his head much.

That was a great performance by Crawford tonight, in front of a hot crowd.

Boxing could use some more of that. Building up local stars so that they have a passionate, engaged hometown following is healthy for the sport.
