But he was torrenting everything. Movies, games, tv...etc. He did reference how movies were more hot button items than the rest. I have no idea. I've only been torrenting for a little over 2 months just to watch some tv shows.
My cable company sends me this email notice each month.
We have provided notice to you recently regarding your monthly data usage, and
as a reminder your current ***** package includes a data plan
of 400 Gigabytes. As of March 24, 2014, your household has used 1646 Gigabytes
of usage data in the current billing cycle.
Since they don't charge for overage, I ignore it. I torrent an extreme amount of data so I try to cut down on streaming.

From what I know of, really new movies are like ****ing risky, as in ones in the cinema. If they are over a year old it's a lot less risk. Also TV shows the networks don't seem overly bothered about.
That said i never torrent movies, i will always use a putlocker link and then download the stream, just seems a bit less likely to get you caught.

ISPs don't really care about what you download more so how much that's why they send out scary letters about bittorrents. They'll only take action for copyright if contacted MPAA or similar. They don't want to get their customers in trouble and lose money.
The letters from ISPs mean nothing. They just say "Hey, we see that you downloaded Breaking Bad - Season Two Torrent. That's illegal. You should delete it."
