Is a sucker-punch the most cowardly thing you can do in boxing?

  • Is a sucker-punch the most cowardly thing you can do in boxing?

Take for example: James Butler vs. Richard Grant
where Butler sucker-punches Grant after losing a decision.

    Aftermath:
Grant's jaw had been knocked temporarily out of its socket. Grant received 26 stitches; he also had some loose teeth and was experiencing severe headaches

Is a sucker-punch considered proper sportsmanship, seen as a part of boxing that comes with the territory?

You give me the awful impression of someone who has literally just stumbled across this video on youtube and decided to make a thread about it.

Butler was charged with aggravated assault and served four months in Riker's Island for this stunt.

Then he murdered Max Kellerman's brother Sam, set his apartment on fire, was caught, and is now serving a 29 year sentence for murder and arson.

the system currently employed in boxing works just fine. if you hit someone on the break or after the bell its a foul but fighters are reminded to defend themselves at all times regardless. there are some missed calls on occasion, but far fewer than low blows and headbutts.

as for sucker punches in general like punching someone who doesnt know he is in a fight, if thats not the most cowardly thing there is its definitely close.

I reckon the most cowardly thing you could do in boxing is to shit your pants, get down on your knees and suck your opponent's cock while begging him not to hit you.

I heard that Rockin' did that when asked about a potential rematch by D-Zizzle.

Especially when you sucker punch somebody and run like a bioch.

No, more so I was wondering if a boxer(like Manny Pacquiao) who suffered a KO and was told he should retire could be a similar situation to a KO from a sucker-punch. Could this be career ending?

Every knockout punch to the head can be career ending, so I'm not really sure WTF it is that you're trying to say here.

But is it cowardly to attempt to win at all cost even if you feel you have the superior skills? Should you not be considerate of possibly ending someone's career?
