        But yea you could, it might be difficult for a trainer to get through though which would make it tough to get the finer points of the sport. Plus usually if you lose a sense the other ones get better, sharper eyes would be nice for a boxer.

            Now I get why the boo's don't affect Rigo and why he's so good in all the other areas. Speed, reflexes, power, etc.

              Yes, hearing has nothing to do with landing punches or avoiding punches. He would not be able to hear the referee or the bell ending the round but these problems could be worked out.

                Yes, I believe that Mario D'Agata was deaf and may also have been partially dumb. He was the world bantamweight champion in the 1950's. He beat Robert Cohen-a Jew- and lost his title to Alphonse Halimi-also a Jew. It must be a unique coincidence.

                  That is why there used to have a red light that lit at the end of the rounds. There have been deaf boxers and some were successful.
