from the clips Ive seen of Pac recently, Im starting to think that Floyd-Pac could be a mega fight again. It wont be as big as before but Pac is looking so good in those clips that it wouldnt shock me if it got pretty close to it.
Here is my thinking. Floyd is Floyd and even the haterz can agree that while not prime, we are all still good on his end. The buzz died somewhat because the Bradley L and definitely because the JMM KO. I felt against Bradley that Pac looked like an ageing Evendar Holyfield. A guy who was once non stop but now could only fight in burst/spurts.
Against JMM I thought he looked clearly better than he was against Bradley but a different fighter than prime Pac. Reminded me somewhat of Jordan when he got older. He wasnt "Air" Jordan anymore but changed his style to dominate on the ground, in the post while being much stronger. Pac didnt fight with all out non stop action but I felt that he was the most physically strong he's ever been and I actually felt he was more heavy handed than before.
With that being said, I thought his non stop action was gone for good and I thought his speed would still be solid but nothing like before. In the new clips though he looks like maybe he could sustain a relentless style for longer periods. Maybe not like prime but not in short spurts either. Moreso though, his speed looked back to the elite level. People say its not like prime but it doesnt have to be. He will lose a lil from age and he's also losing some because he's bigger & stronger now but its very close to before.
Im basically saying that he could possibly look to the point where he's just as devestating if not moreo than a prime Pac. He could have close to the same speed while having more weight on him, and being more heavy handed. There are 2 big questions for me. 1 is his punch resistancce. You dont know where that is after being dropped once and then KO by JMM but if he's confident as he looks then there will be no Donaire situation going on here. It also helps that he's been stopped before twice and he also lost in his prime to EM and still came back strong.
The other question is that these are just clips so you never know but I saw clips before his other recent fights and he looks 10x better in these. Rios could be on his A game but if this Pac shows up then he's going to get hurt bad. It will be painful. Immediatly everyone will want to see Floyd-Pac again but we all know that wont happen yet and it wont be close to as big as before. However, if he has 1 or 2 more great performances again after Rios then this fight will blow up big time again. Huge. It would shock everyone that it was able to build itself back up that mega again.
I would love to see him vs Garcia, Lucas, and alot of GBP fighters but we all know that wont happen. Still, a Provo***ov, JMM, & Bradley fights would be big fights to where I could see him destroying Ruslan like no one else could in a very fan friendly fight and then JMM basically then running to a 5th fight where Pac stretches him this time and then finishes off Bradley. I could see all of that.
I could even see Floyd maybe taking that fight when going for the 50th win and both still looking like top fighters even at a late age. I may be reading way too much into those clips but I just wouldnt be shocked by a Pac resurgence to where everyone see's him up there with Floyd & Ward again. Looks hungry too
