...what a load of bull****. It's just cold reading like asking the red haired Irish looking girl of she had an alcoholic in her family.

After having one do "readings" live, I don't understand how people can believe it

Ahhhh yes, another group of people that I'd like to see wiped from the planet.

Mediums are nothing more than modern day snake oil salesmen, and I actually hate the people who allow them to make their living as much as I hate the cons themselves. I understand that during times of grief human beings are prone to irrational behavior and thought, but you have to be dangerously mentally deficient in order to not only seek the "help" of these crooks, but to believe it as well.

Palm readers, psychics, and tarot card f*ggots also all fall under the same ******ed umbrella of people I'd like to see wiped out.

There are things in this world science cannot explain. That's a FACT. Open your mind, stop being so closed. How did my fortune cookie KNOW that a long lost friend would reappear in my life? Science cannot measure that.

Sylvia Browne is right near the top of my most hated people list.

People believe it because of human psychology. We remember the hits and forget the misses. Sure, the psychic was wrong about my father being an alcoholic, me going on a long journey soon, there being a child in my life, being watched by a secret admirer and recovering from an illness centred around the stomach, but he told me that my great grandmother is watching over me and wants me to treasure the piece of jewelry she left me!

If you go see a medium with a little bit of knowledge of how cold reading works you will be seriously underwhelmed.

What class was it? Why did they invite a deluded charlatan as a guest?

I can understand to an extent why people believe in such nonsense. I think apart from the still grieving for the deceased, many have grown up never being taught to question things, and never feeling the need to. They are happy with their beliefs, and derive some comfort from them. They find reality too impersonal, but wouldnt even get that far with their thinking.

No, some of us have real psychic ability.

I don't know you, Russian Crushin; I've never met you.

I'm sensing that there's a member of your family who is no longer alive...

You're lucky. I always get vague truisms in my fortune cookies.
