  • Will Tyson Fury ever amount to anything but a sideshow?

To be completely honest the first time I saw him fight was against Chisora and I said then who is this tub of untalented goo? also saying what a bum he'll never be anything

a few years and a few fights later I still do not see huge gains in boxing ability though there have been some but I guess it is very evident he has made great strides in conditioning and his overall physique have improved drastically so if he continues to put in that kind of work will we start to see a dramatic increase in boxing skill

because I am almost starting to enjoy the sideshow stuff and think he would be good for the modern HW division if there was a colorful personality intrenched as a champion

Well he's already a top 10 HW with a few strong wins on his record so I don't really think it's fair to call him a sideshow although I understand why someone would given his a larger than life character outside of the ring.

Will he ever become world champion? impossible to say at this point. If Wladimir retires, the game is wide open.

I guess sideshow is going a bit far but will his accomplishments ever outweigh his antics is more like it and I agree the belts will swap back and forth between many names if Wlad retires but do you see fury beating Wlad if he ever gets a shot I do think if fury sticks around long enough he will win a belt or two but if he improves he could be a reigning champ with a decent string of defenses in this type of era I sure hope he does because I would love to hear the post fight interviews if he wins a belt or even if he and Haye ever get it on and he wins the interviews will be must see epic events for sure

I don't think Tyson has it in him to beat a Klitschko. The road to that was the David Haye fight but now thats been called off cos of that nasty sut...and it was a nasty cut David Haye got.

Fighting a Klitschko and getting a decent payday out of it. That will be part of his legacy though.

I hope The Haye fight comes off on February 8th but I still have doubts I will say that 6 months ago even 3 months ago I was down on Tyson Fury but I have started to enjoy his attitude and would like to see him beat Haye

Instinctively I say no but I do think Fury has the potential to cause him more problems than some of the smaller opponents Wlad has faced.

But yeah on his interviews etc, Eddie Hearn thinks if Fury beats Haye he has the potential to become a huge star.

yeah the potential of a crazy crazy good show if he beats Haye are worth watching the fight alone and I can't see anyone rooting for Haye just knowing what might come after the fight if Fury wins I was so so down when it got postponed because even if Haye wins he should outdo himself in the presser as well

Well Emanuel Steward seemed to think so.

Believe me, Tyson has far more boxing ability than he has shown so far. His problem is that he likes 'a fight' too much at times. Ask Steve Cunningham if Fury can box and move. He was stunned when he went into camp. Couldn't believe it was the same guy he fought.
