The athletes that compete in the Olympics, that are signed up to the WADA testing program will have their samples kept for 8 years even if they pass the initial test, so that their sample can be tested at a later date when the testing technology has improved.
Mayweather although never signed up to Olympic standard testing, did have blood and urine samples taken for his recent fights.
Will USADA keep these sample and re-test when their testing methods improve or have they destroyed the sample so they can never be tested again?
Does anyone know USADA's policy over this?
Any boxer that is tested by USADA could be using PEDs that are undetectable by today's current testing methods, but in the future the testing methods will improve and they could be tipped off on what to look for, as in the Marion Jones case and their initial samples that had came back negative could show that the boxer was taken some form of banned PED.
