Do you ever watch other people in the gym?

Lets say there's a REALLY good boxer in your gym...

Do you ever watch them training and get some moves off of them when you're not busy?

I do now, we got 2 of the #1 ranked fighters in the country in my gym..

Brandon Gonzales and Stan Martinyouk(who fought Escobedo in the amateurs and had a controversial loss before he was even that good)

I like to watch these 2 guys and learn some of the stuff they do..

What about you guys?

We have a Pro in our gym (Sam Rukundo, british boxing followers might have heard about him). Even though he's a southpaw I love to watch him every chance i get.

Using your eyes watching a guy will help you to pick up different moves and tricks. I highly recommend watching any fighter in a gym if they have good skills. I picked up alot of stuff from James Toney during my time at Galaxy. The man was and still is an extremely skilled fighter.

The better the fighters are at a gym the better the young guys coming up will tend to be. Kronk being a prime example.

That's true, I was fortunate enough to be around some terrific fighters. Too bad alot of the gyms out there do not have that 1 or several fighters who are really highly skilled to look up to 'cause for me it really helped out alot, I and other gym members who were really just average joe's picked up alot of information that's why when we fought at tournaments we usually took home most of the 1st place finishes in each level and weight category. I try to imagine if I would've ended up at some other gym that just wanted your money. It would've been like buying an expensive Home entertainment system but made in China.
