  • Alexander vs. Maidana and Ortiz vs. Berto II: Who should the winners fight???

Who should the winners fight, if not each other???

The WW division is shaping up to look really stacked in 2012/2013.

Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, Andre Berto, Victor Ortiz, Mike Jones, Kell Brook, Devon Alexander, Marcos Maidana, Paulie Malignaggi, Vyacheslav Senchenko, Jo Jo Dan, Selcuk Aydin, Jan Zaveck, and Brad Solomon are at 147 or moving confirmed to be moving up in their next fight.

Amir Khan and Timothy Bradley are also pretty much a sure bet to move up to 147 in 2012 as well.

Also, Robert Guerrero, Lucas Matthysse, and Brandon Rios could be up at 147 in 2012/2013 at some point as well. The division is really shaping upt o be completely stacked.

With that said, the winners of Alexander-Maidana and Berto-Ortiz II, who should they fight next????

If Alexander beats Maidana, I'd really like to see him fight Amir Khan or the Berto-Ortiz II winner in June/July 2012. If not those two, than I wouldn't mind seeing him fight Mike Jones for the IBF title, if Jones beats Bailey in February/March 2012 first.

If Maidana beats Alexander, I'd love to see him fight the Berto-Ortiz II winner, especially if Ortiz wins again. Ortiz-Maidana II at 147 would be a war, and a huge fight if Marcos beat Devon and if Victor beats Berto again. Of course, I wouldn't mind a Khan-Maidana II fight at 147 either.

Who do you want the winners to fight???

Ortiz and Maidana rematch needs to happen regardless! That is action!

I personally think they should all fight each other...thats how the best stories are made and thats what these young guns need to realise...just fight each other and create a legacy. If they were to do that they will be much more remembered in the future. If these 4 along with Khan and Bradley can have multiple fights vs each other that would be awesome!

I'm all for the Mayweather/Ortiz rematch after Ortiz smashes Berto again.

If both Ortiz and Maidana win they should fight each other.

Im pulling for Alexander to win, and fight the winner of Ortiz-Berto II, for Khan and Bradley, they better fight each other than wait for Pacman and Money.

if alexander/maidana happens which seems likely (i haven't seen an article that says it's a done deal) then the winner should face malignaggi or robert guerrero.
the winner of berto/ortiz II should face senchenko, aydin, or winner of jones/lujan. i'd love to see brad solomon get into the mix of all these names, but idk if the winner would want to face this guy. i left khan out of the choices cause i'd love to see him fight bradley or brook after peterson.

I would really like to see the winner of Berto-Ortiz II fight Khan in July 2012, after Khan has a warm up at 147 in March/April. I hope Solomon and Brook get into the mix, just like Jones has as well.

I use to say I wanted Kell Brook to fight Senchenko in March/April for the WBA title, but to be honest, I would rather have Khan fight him for his first fight at 147. I know it'd be for a title, and Khan would be in his first fight at 147, but it'd be good for boxing if a guy like Amir Khan brought the WBA title into fights with Ortiz, Berto, Alexander, Mayweather, etc. And, he's already one of the top fighters out there right now, why not have him fight Senchenko in March/April for the WBA title???

If Khan carries the weight well (he looks like a natural WW) and beats Senchenko, which he should, fight the Berto-Ortiz II winner in July for a big WW showdown to see who fights Floyd in late 2012.

As for Kell Brook, I'd like to see him fight the Aydin-Dan II winner in March, and then either Solomon or the Bailey-Jones winner for the IBF title in the summer. The same goes for Solomon.

Of course, I wouldn't be mad if the Berto-Ortiz II winner fought the Alexander-Maidana winner in June/July either. If thatw ere happen, have Khan fight Brook, Solomon, Jones, or Senchenko.

There's plenty of great fights at 147 the next year or two.

I really wouldn't mind seeing Khan fight Bradley after Peterson, to settle things at 140, though I doubt it happens. Khan seems really set on fighting in March/April and July/August at 147, before a showdown with Floyd late in the year.
