tito had his lottery win against bader.
I think tito beat rashad the first time, but thats a long time ago. Ortiz has gotten really bad since then.

I look at the few UFC Light Heavyweight Hall of Famers there is and you'll be hard pressed to find ANYONE with a better UFC win-loss record and better accomplishments than Rashad Evans.
If anyone feels like they can prove me wrong, please provide a name of one UFC Light Heavyweight that has more UFC victories and accomplishments after fighting for only 6 years with 1 loss or less on their resume. Just one?? Crickets............. Crickets...............
The only other fighters in MMA that I can think of with these types of stats are Fedor/Machida/GSP, even though Fedor never fought in the UFC.
Evans record/history speaks for itself:
First ever Undefeated champion in the UFC.
First fighter to win TUF, then win the title in another division.
One of the best win-lose ratio's in the history of the UFC (doing it in their most competive division, LHVWT).
Based on the above FACTS, Rashad is top 5 P4P
Like it or not, we are witnessing something great in Rashad Evans.

haha my man up top needs to slow down on that Rashad Evans nuthugging. He isn't that good. He's proven time in his last two fights he fades in the 3rd as Rampage and Thiago almost finished him. His striking is decent at best, it's all speed and power, not much technique. Joke of a black belt in BJJ, so all he has is his wrestling which can take him places.
Tito definitely beat him the 1st time, after what he did to Bader you can't count him out because he could land on Rashad like he did bader and maybe be competitive wrestling with him, but Tito's striking is about as good as rashad's really.
Can't count out tito but if Rashads smart he'll hump him to death.

Regarding the Rampage fight. Even when Rampage had Rashad hurt in the 3rd round, Rampage still didn't win the round. You know why? Cause Rashad gave it back 10x harder...

1) not necessarily based on merits. It's the company that choose which ones will get in. It's not to be compared with IBHOF.
2) It's a young sport and most of the talent are still active.

It's about who you beat, and when you beat them. Also you could argue It's about how you beat them.

Hell, even a bum like Dave Herman is 21-2. Doesn't make him great or even good.
We have to dissect someones record. A guy like BJ penn has kind of a mediocre statistics when you look at wins and losses, but hes undisputably greater than Rashad.
Evans record/history speaks for itself:
First ever Undefeated champion in the UFC.
Even Tim Sylvia was undefeated when he won his strap, but he was later stripped.
First fighter to win TUF, then win the title in another division.
One of the best win-lose ratio's in the history of the UFC (doing it in their most competive division, LHVWT).

Jon Jones, Shogun and Machida from his own weightclass is for sure above him. Arguments can be made that Rampage is ranked above as well, and for sure if you consider "greatness" over a whole career. But i guess you are talking about top5 p4p currently.
Like it or not, we are witnessing something great in Rashad Evans.
Want my honest opinion? Hes a good fighter who beat arguably the worst lhw champ in history to get his strap. A fight which he was losing up until he tagged Forrest.
He got destroyed badly in his only title defence.
Hes a strong wrestler and a good athlete who uses solid gameplans to grind out decisions.
In h2h in his weightclass i think he loses to Jones, Shogun, Machida and is probably a coinflip with a healthy rampage and a slight favorite over Davis.
Outside ufc i think he will have some major problems with King Mo, but thats just my honest opinion.
Hes a worse wrestler and a worse boxer than King Mo, and smaller. What hes got going for himself in that matchup is his gameplanning which has only looked idiotic against Machida.
Lets look at his record.
A-wins
None. Rampage could be bordering on it if he wasn't inactive and had to shed a small automobile in size to make the weight.
B-wins
Thiago Silva
Forrest Griffin
Rampage
Bisping (very borderline seeing as bisping never had a great win, and is a middleweight)
C-wins
Chuck Liddell (this would be an A class win, but beating a liddell who we know was finito? I don't know, i rate it about as high as i rate Roy Jones jr for B-hop. Call me unfair if you want)
The rest is padding. Sam Hoger, Brad Imes, Sean Salmon and the likes are just not good at all.
Bonnar is an okay win, hes got that toughness going. He could possibly be considered an c-type win.
Other than that there is that controversial draw against tito in a fight many would have had tito as the winner. And mind you this is a watered down version of the huntington beach bad boy.
All in all, i think Rashad is one of this eras top10 light heavies. And its a tough weight to fight in which gives him some extra points.
But to call him "one of the greatest" is just wrong. Maybe if we were to list the top100 ATG in this very young sport he could be mentioned (im not sure, i dont have a list) but thats only because of lack of fighters. In 50-100 years no one will remember him.
Now mind you, he can still better his career. If he were to snatch the crown from Jon Jones and then defend it a few times he certainly could be up for discussion as one of the best. I have little faith in him doing that however.
TL;DR: Rashad has a shiny record, but it's padded. He lacks defining wins. Hes only suffered one official loss and he has that going for him, but in no way is he one of the greatest.

I'd also like to point out that Rashad could get some extra points in the p4p book because he most likely could fight at both middleweight and light heavy.
