You don't know who Hugo Strange is? .....
Basically he's a very intelligent Psychologist/crime organizer, he uses his medical expertise to try to defeat Batman.
Once caught by Batman and placed in Arkham Asylum but later escaped with other in-mates and he devoted the rest of his life to revenging himself upon The Batman.
Thought to have died multiple times but never has, such as using his yoga methods to slow his heartbeat to an undetectable level.
A worthy adversary.
