  • which facesaver headgear? and no foul-protector?

    hello,

i cant afford winning so thats out of the question.

i am currently thinking about getting a facesaver headgear, the one we have at the gym is the one with the cage in the front and i prefer the one with the bar in the front.

which facesaver headgear should i get?

im thinking about getting the cleto reyes one

anyone have any suggestions? what do u guys use?

also for the no foul protector what should i get? we dont have one at the gym right now but im thinking about getting one soon. just for safety reasons.

im on a tight budget. anyone recommend anything?

    thanks you!!

I've got the new safemax facebar and this thing is great. Very light as opposed to the old bulky one. The padding is a little tougher than the winning for example but this headgear has served me well. I would recommend the new one to anyone. As far as the cleto reyes one goes, I've found them heavy and bulky. Aside from that, great protection.

i have the reyes one and it is very good.i would definitely buy that over everlast ..one thing to consider...the bar is not flush against your face, comes out sort of like a football mask. when i put my right hand up sometimes it catches under the bar when i am trying to bring it up to my cheek, or i rest it right under the bar so my face is exposed...not sure if i explained that right..dont order from ringside pm for for best reyes dealer

yes i dont want it flush infront of my face anyway, the bar has to have some allowance from my face because if it was straight infront of my face then when i get hit by a jab that thing is gonna hurt if it hits my nose, might as well spar without one lol.

yes number 4 is protruding out but 3 seems more flush. i cant afford winning so ill stick with cleto or some other brand i can afford. im sure that ringside is selling number 3 with the steel bar face because check the difference on the ears how there is a detail instead of number 4 its just a hole.

I think one of Pac's recent sparring partners wears this:

also, ringside has a new version of their facesaver, but I have yet to see a review:

The Fight Gear and Everlast safemax are copies of winning, which look pretty good and I'm waiting to get my hands on one them for testing. Everlast or Ringside hook me up and I'll give you a report card.
