  • I'm not sure why I'm one of the only people who thought Foreman was doin well

I was at the fight, watching most of it on the big screen, so i saw what the rest of you saw. Foreman was boxing and not brawling, thats true. But he also landed some solid punches in every single round, and in my estimation both of them were winning/losing rounds by razor thin margins. The only definitive round of the fight before the knee injury was Round 1 going to Cotto. Now I'm a Cotto fan but he got cracked quite a few times and he got countered effectively alot. If Foreman was just running and holding I could see where the hate comes from. But he was moving, setting, and hitting. How is that a ***** move? That's how he was going to win.

Anyway, like I said, I had the first 6 rounds as 4-2 Cotto, but almost every round but Rd. 1 was competetive and coulda gone either way. Stop hating and give Yuri a little credit. I know he's not that popular and pretty unknown, but the dude fought hard and tried to entertain til he basically couldn't stand up on his own anymore. If that doesn't earn your respect I'm not sure what will.

P.S. - If Cotto was in Foreman's position and fought til he couldn't even walk, we would be calling it "vintage" Miguel. And you'd be right. but give credit where it's due when it's the other guy as well.

I gave Cotto every round except the 4th. He was over matched and out gunned on every level. Cottos jab was kncking him all over the ring.

They thought they grab a easy win off Miguel. Time to hit the drawing board.

Foreman was good but the lack of power caught up with him.

very unimpressed with foreman. Him buckling on his own made it worse. I dont see any reason why he was hyped as much, it mustve been a great white hope type thing.

I get the feeling that I'm the only person on this thread who watched this fight with a completely neutral eye. In fact I was pullin for Miguel a little bit. Does anyone have the Compubox stats? I'd like to see what the numbers say. Also, Miguel never really hurt Yuri. So I'm not sure why even though this "total domination" happened he never put him down.

You're all gonna tell me I'm discrediting Miguel but you're wrong. Miguel was great. I just thought Yuri did a decent job fighting back.

He wasn't doin terrible but really the only time Foreman did better than Cotto was at the end of the 3rd round and the 4th. I just didn't see anything else that great.

First two rounds Foreman was getting ROCKED by JABS. His legs buckled 2 or 3 times and Foreman looked very, very shaky.

It wasn't till the end of the 3rd where Foreman landed a few nice shots, still not enough to win the round. He continued that in the 4th, which was clearly his best round.

After that he was taking some big shots. He was using lateral movement and stayed away from Cotto's body punches for the most part, but he still wasnt that effective.

I actually expected a lot more from Foreman. I thought he should be able to at least go the distance and possibly score a decision win. So he underperformed imo.

Cotto won every round except 1, maybe 2. Then that mother****er starts falling for no reason **** him.

wrong. i watched it neutral because i couldn't give a **** less either about cotto OR foreman. i'm not a big fan of either fighter so honestly couldn't give a fuk who won or lost i just wanted to see a KO. and with that said I saw cotto dominating foreman easily and annihilating him
