  • Is it me or was Campbell looking for a way out of his fight again?

He whispered into his corner man's ear that he couldn't feel his hip.

No he wasn't, he tried till the end but his legs aren't the same. I wouldn't say Nate is done either, Nate right now could only feed off of Maidana/ Juan Diaz/ Margarito-style opponents. When it comes to give and take, up close action, Nate is that dude.

Campbell is a chump and a quitter so it wouldn't surprise me. He and Malignaggi never back up their talk. Combined, they're about 2-8 in fights that matter.

Campbell has aged, he is done as an elite. He can still be a gate-keeper and make money.

I have to give nate his props, I had him winning 3 rounds, but he was outmatched because Ortiz, while being a quitter, is an excellent boxer. Campbell did lay a nice blueprint for how to take him apart though. If Campbell was younger it would have been a great fight, because I saw that Campbell was able to hurt Ortiz to the body, and land flush on his head enough to make Ortiz but on the running shoes, which I didn't think he really needed to do.

I don't believe Nate is afraid of taking punishment, but rather he hates to lose or be outclassed. Of course that is human nature, but Nate has some serious pride, which leads him into harsh arguments a lot of the time with people who question bad performances, etc.

I bet last night was extremely difficult, after the fight I think he didn't want to hug Ortiz, he didn't want to give him any props, even though Ortiz was being a gentleman about it and giving big respect to him after the fight.
