  • How the hell did De La Hoya take Pacquiao's punches?

Looking back at that fight, how the hell was De La Hoya able to take Pac's best punches for 7 without falling, wobbling all over the place or looking like he was in serious trouble? The guy was a zombie. His legs must have been ridiculously gone that night. Was it because he has an amazing chin, or was Pac's power gone since he had just moved up two weight divisions for the first time?

DLH has an ATG chin. Pac also wasnt loading up on his punches he just threw a ton of them.

DLH has always had a solid chin, even his features tend to hold up, the Pac fight was the first time i saw visable damage on his face during a fight, there just wasn't anything he could do at that stage of his career. It's a shame cause DLH use to be one of the best at adjusting and winning fights.

He's taken flush shots from guys 20 pounds more then Manny and stronger. I'm sure he can take that.

He's so much bigger it's pretty obvious.

Oscar had one of the best chins. Before this fight he had only been stopped by Bernard Hopkins.

Great chin and Pac was reluctant to get caught so was throwing speedy punches, not like the ones set his feet and threw against Cotto in the later rounds.
