Hatton had 2 blackeyes during sparring!
Just watched the Arreola vs. McCline fight and during the break (waiting for the Wright vs. Williams fight), Hatton was interviewed by Jim Lampley. Lampley asked Hatton what's up with the blackeyes - both eyes and they looked like from a few days ago. Anyway, Hatton downplayed the welts by saying that they (the blackeyes) just show how intense his sparring sessions are.
The last time I saw a boxer preparing for a major bout with black eye from sparring, was Oscar Dela Hoya. He was preparing then for Manny Pacquiao for the Dec. 6th 2008 fight we all know our Pacman won.

We shall know the reason on the next episode of HBO 24/7, hopefully. It doesn`t heal that quick.

Hatton bruises easily. I wouldn't read to much into it.

He'd been having a tough workout against 5 sparring partners last week. One of them we know was a light middleweight with good speed and power. Of course he's gonna get banged up a bit. But he doesn't look too bad:

Markings like that are probably to be expected sparring against bigger guys with power..
