  • 2008 MLB Playoff Thread

Well the White Sox just beat the Tigers today, so they will play the Twins in a one game playoff tommorrow to see who plays the Rays. The matchups are

    AL

    Red Sox vs Angels

    White Sox vs Rays

    NL

    Brewers vs Phillies

    Dodgers vs Cubs

My predictions are Red Sox vs Rays in ALCS. The Angels are damn good, but the Red Sox are experienced and have had their number in the playoffs. Then the Rays are on fire and I could believe beat the Twins or W Sox in a series especially since they have home field advantage. At home they have played well.

NLCS: Phillies vs Cubs. The Phillies just have better starting and bullpen pitching than the Brewers and plus I think their offense will come through in the clutch. Cubs, Dodgers is a tough one, but I think the Cubs are destined. Plus they have good starting pitching and a bullpen.

World Series: Red Sox vs Cubs. The Red Sox just have the experience over the Rays in the playoffs. Then the Cubs I feel beat the Phillies in a tough series. The Winner: Chicago Cubs. They are just destined I believe. 100 yrs ago was there last championship. It would just be fitting if they ended the streak this year.

    It all starts Wednesday.

I got the Angels beating the red sox, but i hate boston so that makes my opinion invalid. Go Cubs and Dodgers!!!! Whoever wins that series im rooting for.

Yeah Im rooting for the Red Sox in the AL and the NL the Cubs. Even though my favorite player is Manny Ramirez so I wouldn't mind seeing the Dodgers do something. I just want to see the Cubs win it all they are totally past due. Knowing the Cubs though they will probably blow it in some dramatic fashion like last time with Bartman.

I gotta admit, as a yankees fan i always liked manny (and even ortiz) except when they played against us. I like manny even more now that hes not with the red sox....i cant say anything nice about the red sox, but at least i admitted that my opinion is not valid because of my hatred towards them. Hate and love...2 things that blind from the truth

I basically have three favorite teams. The Rockies, Blue Jays, and the Red Sox if I had to pick what my favorite was I would go with the homestate Rockies. Since I like the Red Sox I hate the Yanks. Even though I was sad that they are closing down Yankee Stadium. That place is a baseball museum and has had so many great moment's that it sucks to see it go. The new stadium will probably be out of this world, but probably corporate as hell like most new stadiums today.

It's why baseball has banned him from playing. He's just a walking steroid and would cause people harm if he was allowed to hit.

Understandable. Since they hadn't won in so many years and now have won two recently they probably can be pretty obnoxious.
