  • kessler wasting his time??

upon hearing kessler is fighting hausser (not sure of his name) it makes me wonder what was the point him winning back his title and wasting time fighting mandatorys?? if he were to have fought miranda and ko'd him then he would have been in a far better situation than he finds himself now.

im thinking he's just wasted one year when he could have fought miranda then maybe taylor for the wbc belt and upon battering them both found himself a big name in america and lining up the chance for a hug fight with pavlik.

    I agree,

Kessler has great talent, I hope he steps up again soon. I would hate to see him waste his talent,

The thing I hate most in boxing in wasted talent.

Did you read that old Asian Sensation interview with Harold Lederman that got bumped? It was two years old, and Lederman literally called Amir Khan "the next Sugar Ray Robinson" no lie. I think Amir must be wasting his talent.

Yeah, I hope my boy steps it up soon. He kinda looked like **** in his last fight but that's understandable after losing a career defining fight like he did against Calzaghe. I agree with you NO1, he should have fought Miranda instead of just chasing a belt. Even though he wouldn't have a belt, it would have set him up for a title shot and it would have made him much more popular in the US.

I did, I had a hearty laugh at that. Followed by a laughing fit at the thought of Ray Robinson getting dropped by the Mighty Michael Gomez.

But really, I couldn't believe it. Ray Robinson!? He must've been on ****in' drugs..

A couple of years ago Khan did look to have everything you need. I think he actually seems to have gotten worse in some ways.

EDIT: Not everything you need to be Sugar Ray Robinson, just some other good stuff.

I think it's his weak opposition. If you can get away with little flaws that make things easier, you will do it. That's my opinion anyway.

That is the best GIF of that KO that I've seen thus far!

No question about it. He should have fought Miranda. Instead he went for WBA belt against undefeated Dimitri Sartison.

That being said Kessler's manager has tried in vain to land a fight in the US but has been turned down by everyone of them. All the big US names have fights scheduled, so Kessler has to take care of this meaningless joke of a 'mandatory' in Danilo Haussler. The Hausslerfight is considered a joke by boxingpeople in this country. And with proboxing under heavy fire following a scandal involving a braindamaged fighter, Mogens Palle didn't want to win the pursebid for this fight as he feared a tragedy might occur.

Kessler's new careergoal is a fight with Kelly Pavlik since a rematch with Calzaghe is unlikely. Kessler needs to free himself of this mandatory thereby giving room for one or 2 volontary defenses. Look for Kessler to try to break into the american market after disposing Haussler.

I guess when you live by an alphabetbetboy you die with an alphabetboy.

BTW Haussler became mandatory because he was higher ranked by the WBA than Sartison. An agreement was made that the Kessler-Sartison winner would have to face Haussler within 120 days.
