  • Why buy Jones/Trinidad?

Honestly. I've been gone a while and haven't posted much (if at all) in the last month, but what's the draw of this fight? Both fighters have aged well past their point of prime, with Jones having lost 3 of his last 5 fights, two of which were devestating knockouts.

Trinidad has also lost 2 of his last 4, and hasn't been on level of an active fighter since 2002, coupled with a nearly 3 year layoff, advancing age, and a body that's been doing more weight gaining than weight lifting.

So what's the draw? I honestly can't see why so many people here are excited to see this garbage. 7 years ago it would've been an amazing fight, now? The outcome can be only one of two possible scenarios : Roy potshots and counters his way to a boring 12 round decision (forget that "Im'a knock him out in 4" ****) or Trinidad lucks up and catches Roy's scrambled brains with a lucky shot and ends his night.

"Bring on the Titans" my ass. I'm much more excited about Klitschko/Ibragimov. Surely I can't be the only one? This is just a nostalgia fight at it's cire, right?

I've never liked Roy personally, but always respected him. I hope he makes good on his promise to KO Tito. Just because I've never liked Tito either and I find it disrespectful for someone to lay out of the sport as long as he has, come back, and get a big fight like that. No tuneups, no nothing, just a done deal. I hate Oscar De La Hoya for the same reason.

These big name guys go and lay off for however long they want while the young guys bust their ass on Showtime, HBO, and ESPN and go years without ever being thrown a bone.

Do you work for my cable service provider? Or did you just make that assumption because I use Sopcast every now and again?

I buy the ones I care about.

Don't you know? The greatest fights of all time are between two great fighters who can still throw punches, but can no longer block them.

Why buy the fight? what kind of question is that? even though their both past it the fight is obviously sellable to the public. its an interesting fight IMO simply becuase they are both past it, which should make for some good moments.

That's actually very straightforwardly funny, and honest as well.
