It's almost a 'curse' when you earn that mandatory title shot. Jennings doesn't want to risk losing the number one spot by fighting a decent opponent and losing. However, how fresh is he gonna be if he sits out on the sidelines waiting for wilder-stiverne to sort itself out? Jennings is still relatively inexperienced with only having a handful of am fights and only 19 pro fights. In an ideal world, a guy like him would be fighting every 3-4 months to develop and stay sharp

Hey David, do you know the scoop with Bryant Jennings? He went from being one of most touted prospects in the division to falling off the radar

Possible grammatical error in today's Fightin Words :
"Bermane Stiverne knew who the true heavyweight champion is"

Should it be "knows" so it's the present tense?

Hey David, liked your Fighting Words article today. I'm glad that Boxingscene is, in essence, calling out Wlad for his disgraceful performance the other night. I thought maybe you could expand on your criticism by interviewing some prominent referees to get their perspective on the excessive clinching. I'm wondering what someone like Smoger, Weeks, et al would do differently, if anything

I see your point. Watching the NBC broadcast you could tell he quit. He must've exited the ring fast - the NBC crew wasn't able to get an interview.

I was disappointed that the fight didnt get a chance the play out. Glazkov probably would have scored a KO but Hamer was by no means out of the right.

David, in your Adamek-Cunningham II article, you make no mention of Tor Hamer quitting on his stool. In fact I haven't any Boxingscene articles citing that. It was disgraceful IMO. He wasn't to the point where you might excuse a fighter for giving in e.g. Ortiz- Lopez
