To be honest, when I started my journey through all of boxings weight classes I couldn’t tell you much about Light Flyweight at all. I knew about the trilogy between the two hall of famers, Carbajal and Gonzalez, but that is about the limit of my knowledge. I have followed Joe Calzaghe’s career for the last seven years and from the first fight I saw live, against former title holder Byron Mitchell, I have been a fan. In the Mitchell fight Calzaghe showed the heart of a champion as he rose from the canvas to stop the heavy hitting Mitchell in the same round.
