I do think that one of things Bradley should look to do, is punch with Amir Khan, as that might be his best shot at answering his flurries. I dont know if you wait till Khan has finished up the combo, or whether you can slip inside something, that your going to be able to counter him that effectively, you may do it, but I doubt it will happen consistently enough for you.
Punching with Amir seems the best ticket to answering his attacks, even Maidana was able to land right hands when he was unloading on him.
Yeah over the last few days I have kind revised my own pick, and am starting to think that yeah, maybe Khan has enough legs to offset Bradley just enough to cut down his aggression, his consistency, that he has enough dog in him to get through the tough spells when he inevitably gets himself trapped. If Bradley were a bigger punch, then maybe I would choose him, cause skill+power might be enough to take advantage of Khan in that window of opportunity when he gets trapped.
I think Bradley's biggest problem counter punching, would be that Khan might be able to keep him playing defense, and whilst he's playing defense, he might be getting outworked, that said, I do think its interesting to see what happens if Bradley moves the goal posts, talking about when he doesn't give Amir such an easy target to hit, cause Khan has to hit the target before he can move away. Against Maidana it was easier for Khan to utilize the footmovement, cause he had an easy target to rattle off combo's.
Because Khan has shown improvements, not only in his skills but in his will as well. He's become a fighter now, not just a flashy kid from Bolton. That kind of mentality is very important.
I think he's definitely shown improvements, but I was watching the Maidana fight the other day, and whilst there were spots where he looked really good, he seemed to make quite a few mistakes that got him caught.
Dont you think he's always had a lot of heart though? I remember watching the Limond fight live on television and thinking to myself, he showed of a lot of heart to get through that and stop Limond.
I can see why you would pick him though, as I'm starting to think whether I should revise my own pick, as I originally picked Bradley, but am I right that you changed your pick? at what point did you change it, after the Alexander fight or what?
Khan, his speed, height, footwork and Freddie Roach would overcome Bradley IMO.
Interesting. After asking you that question I went and checked your post history regarding the two, and you seemed to suggest you thought Bradley had the edge, any reason why you have changed your mind, if you have changed your mind that is?
Silencer, who are you picking out of Bradley and Alexander ?
I have a feeling Bradley, as I feel Devon might not be good enough from the outside to keep him out. Alexander has a tendency to recoil into his shots to generate the snap, but I think he overcommits too much, which is why when he missed against Kotelnik, he left himself in a vulnerable spot to be countered imo.
I get the impression Devon's rigid/stiff style vs Bradley's footspeed, aggression and fluidity, could be the difference.
If Devon fights on the front foot, I think he attacks in straight lines too much, that Bradley could exploit him with his footspeed. If Devon fights on the backfoot, I think Bradley will be able to slip his leads, or at least be able to take advantage of when he over-commits etc.
My worry for Bradley, is if he gets caught whilst applying pressure, being aggressive.
