    Continued...
'Time Out' by Dave Brubeck is fantastic.
'Mingus Ah Um' by Charles Mingus is brilliant. Can be a bit weird for some, but great album. Another Mingus album, and one of my favs is called 'The black Saint and the Lady Sinner'. Big band, just amazing, though some struggle with it at first.
I'd also go for Bill Evans 'Sunday at the Village' vanguard and maybe something like Duke Ellingtons, 'Live at Newport' to round it out.

See how those go. Let me know what you think. All of those are jazz classics in the straight ahead, bebop, hardbop, cool traditions though.
That's not going into vocal albums at all. Just instrumental.

My go to albums for 'entertaining' are Miles' Kind of Blue and Sade A Love Deluxe. Not a jazz album like the Miles one, but perfect for 'entertaining'....
As for albums, Kind of Blue and Something Else are two staple, must have albums. Stunning stuff. You may already have them. KoB by Miles and Something Else is Cannonball Adderley with Miles.
I'd also check out Miles' first quintet albums Cookin', Workin', Relaxin' and Steamin'.
The next must have album should be Moanin' by Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers. Brilliance.
A best of compilation of Horace Silvers stuff is a must have (otherwise, get Song for my Father), and Sidewinder by lee Morgan.

Thanks for the green k. Unfortunately, I doubt it will ever be 100%. It is about 85% now so I will take it. LOL
