yeah, i think that would be the safest bet to do. i just don't see mares being blown out in one again. gonz is strong enough to be a threat all throughout the fight though, and skilled enough to give him a very tough, competitive fight. it's really crazy how everyone was so confident in mares, but just a matter of one round can change everything.
i'll try to look some up, besides the ones i gave you, i have like five more. i actually just went to this store over at village crossing, it's called disc replay. they buy and sell all types of media related products. video games, dvds, cds, gaming systems, and phones. they might have shameless on dvd there. i'd have to call them and see what their prices on dvd boxsets would be. i actually know a guy who works there. i went there on wednesday and he rang me up. but most likely, i'll keep looking online for links.
part of me wants to believe mares will improve in the immediate rematch. he'll fight smarter and not assume what gonz is going to throw (the fight ended when mares assumed gonz was going to throw a effortless jab, but instead destroyed him with a powerful left hook). i mean, he needs to fighter smarter in this rematch if he wants to win, that is obvious. none of that "balls to the wall" all out mexican, nothing but offense war he always tries to give fans. we'll see what happens, but i'm still riding with mares. i think his team will come up with a gameplan to outpoint gonz. that or even gonz could be caught with something big. he's been dropped in 2 of his last 4 fights and has been stopped 3 times. it's a tough fight to predict after what happened in the first fight, but i'm still rooting for mares.
that's a tough one. mares is there to be hit. he also doesn't have the greatest defense ever. going up against a skilled veteran like gonz months after he took him out in 1 round. the cards are stacked against mares. i'd have to see who the favorite is going into the rematch.
man, in retrospect gonz was there for the upset. he has more KO's than mares has fights. he is trained by nacho who trained mares earlier in his career and knows him as a fighter (strengths and weaknesses). also, mares was dropped by vic, a smaller man in a lighter weight class. moreno and morel were smaller, not so hard hitting fighters. ponce doesn't have a great chin and is wild. gonz was so overlooked and it seemed like mares was going into the fight as just another routine defense of his belt (not an actual threat or dangerous fight).
the first video (of the single hit) says the guy clowney destroyed was a complete foot and 100 pounds smaller than him. just saying. as for the highlight video, that was some great stuff. i like watching quarterbacks getting tossed around, haha. he'll probably end up on a bum team since he'll be a top three nfl draft pick?
