The problem also is that HBO has cut it's boxing budget a lot while they have gotten more subscribers. That has also hurt boxing, they had a budget of around 100 million in 99/00 and then slashed it to 60 million around 2006 now it's at around 35 million. People don't talk about that much but the corporate greed has hurt the sport, once they found out that SHO wasn't going to be competing as much as before they started getting real cheap. They figured might as well have blowout's on HBO to build guys up and put on the attractive fights on PPV so we don't have to pay for it.
maidana/alexander is a good fight, i think devon's got a chance cause of maidana's sloppy style but i think his power can stop alexander. another good fight. broner/perez is still not official but both sides have said that's what they're looking at and it's scheduled so hopefully it happens. eloy is a tough dude, but i think broner outpoints and outpowers him. not sure if it ends in stoppage but it'll be a good one. gamboa was only going up to 135 for rios, i doubt he skips 130 now. i still want to see him fight mikey garcia though.
i think danny garcia will play it smart and outpoint him to a decision. morales is a tough dude but he needs guys like cano and maidana, guys that don't have a good defense and come forward. i agree, i think donaire will ko him, hopefully it's a good one while it lasts. i'm looking forward to kirkland/molina. you know carlos molina is from here? i wonder where he trains. either way, if molina can whether the storm for 3 rounds, he's got a shot to come back and beat kirkland but it's a slim one. kirkland should be able to take his shots since he took angulo's, but then again, angulo was punched out and had nothing but arm punches to give after the 1st round. we'll see what happens. i wish alvarez would step up bro, i'm not sure whats next for him, i hope it's not floyd.
they are? damn, on boxrec it said granados vs. TBA so i guess...he did put up a fight against gomez man, that was entertaining. khan/peterson was a close fight, it can't be called a robbery. williams/lara and casamayor/santa cruz, those are robberies. the last point deduction was sketchy to call, but if you look back, you see khan using his elbows to push off peterson, throw him in a headlock a lot throughout the fight. plus, it's the brits calling it a robbery, of course they would be mad if they're guy lost a close decision. nowhere near a big robbery though.
who you think wins in alexander/maidana? supposedly that fight and broner/perez will be on the same card. hbo has some good cards coming up, garcia/morales and kirkland/molina on jan 28, donaire/wv2 and chavez jr on feb 4, and alexander/maidana and broner/perez on feb 25
wow, thanks for the info. man, cleverly stops him bro. and i like the camp 360s, good to hear another one is coming out tonight. yeah i think it will be better for sure, they both know what they'll be getting into and will come out stronger and smarter thus making it a better fight. i felt like peterson didn't do enough to win the close rounds him and khan had in the first fight, hopefully he puts a bit more work in. great fight though.
check out the third fight on the card, two undefeated guys going at it. should be good. http://boxrec.com/show_display.php?show_id=628982
yeah i felt like khan won as well. the point deductions were good though, khan was pushing and holding a lot throughout the fight. rematch should be good but peterson would need to be more active in it. i felt like he didn't do enough to win the decision.
and yeah man, i only got one final left on thursday so i'm pretty excited. are you still planning on going to that card on friday? i'll go if you still down.
