So many times in betting, syndicates will bet a pretty big sum of money on one side, to bring the line on the other side down to where they want it, then they'll bet a HUGE amount of money on the other side. It's chess. Pacquiao fans think it's a game of Go-Fish.
Right. I mean sooooo few people have any idea what the line movement really means. And none of us know for sure. It could have just as easily been a syndicate that came in and dropped a ton of money (we know in this case that it wasn't, because the sportsbooks have reported that basically all the early bets are on Manny). It really lets you know that most of those guys don't pay attention to anything other than Manny. Otherwise they'd know that this is completely routine for Mayweather fights.
What gets me is all the "Mayweather's day of reckoning" cryptic ass posts . Like it's more than boxing. "Manny will win for the people!" Riiiiiight. They're so consumed with making this guy out to be some kind of saint. It's comical. And sad.
