martinez was on duro de domar again (last tuesday). i've only seen the first thirteen minutes cause duro de domar's youtube page has it chopped up in different parts. so far he's talked about his injuries, the close fight with murray, and the criticism he's faced.

yeah, i wonder if it'll be available for download or dvd. just like marquez's documentary, libra por libra, i think that is going to be for sale sometime down the line (haven't looked into it). as for their situation, yeah i agree that if this documentary is based on making martinez look like some kind of villain, their relationship is completely over. it's crazy to think these guys have been together for years, they came up in the boxing world together, and now they're seriously feuding like their friendship is practically over. it's another robert and danny garcia with victor ortiz i guess, who knows. didn't gabriel do time because he was found guilty?

once this premieres, martinez won't be able to brush this off. it'll be interesting to hear what happened (from both sides). do you think it's simply about money, or the fact that sergio and pablo were accused of leaving gabriel out to dry while he was in trouble?

nice find, i didn't know about this. i do remember martinez and pablo sarmiento being accused of abandoning gabriel once he got locked up. it probably has something to do with money (it usually does), but it definitely looks like something more. i have noticed martinez being quiet about this as well. i just google searched the documentary and found its facebook page:

if matthyse beats garcia, there isn't a better challenge out there for mayweather (some would say alvarez). the only thing i fear is that argentina itself won't embrace matthysse. he doesn't have that charismatic personality martinez does. i think they'll take notice of him though once he beats garcia and becomes the ring champ (and possibly cracks the top 10 p4p rankings). we'll see what happens in due time, but i really hope matthysse is able to beat garcia, grab his titles, and get his name out there now (is the US and argentina). we need more names in boxing.

he looked pretty damn good against dzinziruk (besides the 7th round). i think gabriel was in that training camp though, that's why. yeah, gabriel was the head trainer, pablo was just the assistant coach. i guess after gabriel got locked up, they just kept doing what they have done for years, same training techniques and routines. now that i think about it, you think martinez would have looked a hell of a lot better against macklin and barker? i think so. was it pablo or gabriel that was in matthysse's corner for the judah and alexander fights? cause those are the only two fights he's trained outside of argentina for (and he lost them, robberies or not).

Was rooting for Matthysse. As far as Argentine fighters goes, Martinez has still accomplished more and has had a better career but I think Matthysse has lots of potential to surpass him soon enough, especially since Matthysse is only 30 and has a number of years left. If he beats Garcia, he'll definitely deserve Fighter of the Year. Right now the only Mayweather fight I'm salivating over is one against Matthysse. Any other fight at 140-147 would just be a mismatch.

I ended up giving Martinez, 1,2,3,5,7,11,12. So a draw if you include both knockouts. Hopefully the hand and knee were the main problems and he comes back fine.

I'd like to see Martinez-Golovkin next. It's too bad Murray seems to have turned down the Chavez fight because Murray could have won and prevented the Chavez rematch. I wouldn't mind a Murray-Martinez rematch just so we have a clearer conclusion, but I rather see something fresh and I'm not a fan of Murray's peak a boo style.

I'd like to see him back with Gabriel Sarmiento though. They should work out whatever they have between them. Only time Sergio looked great with Pablo out of 4 fights was against Chavez. I don't think Pablo has ever told Martinez anything useful in the corner. There's a fight Adrian Broner had against Fernando Quintero where most people thought Broner got a gift. Recently I found out that Gabriel trained Quintero for that fight. Can't just be a coincidence. Gabriel must be good at what he does.
