What is the point of signing with the promotions once you're a recognized top fighter in a division?
Just keep beating mandos, stay independent and active then top names will see the value in fighting you once you build a rapport with fans

I imagine the boxing authority in Japan has alot of confidence in Inoue and probably made it clear that they need him to impress so there is alot of pressure on him to perform well as for Nery, he seems like he is happy to be getting a good payday, he might see what he can do but if it becomes apparent...

Lawrence Cole is a corrupt and obviously bought ref by the TX commission, he always lets the A-side usually in that area its going to be a popular Mexican fighter get away with anything they want...Willy Wanker likes this.

Get it through your short head, the Canelo fight is/was never a realistic possibility....

I have seen this movie before and more times than not, when fighters talk like this they either cover up and prevent damage before getting stopped or get on their bike, hold alot, and try to make it 12.

That is why he moved up, so it wouldn't be. At 168 there is nowhere bigger to go than a Canelo fight but since that doesn't appear to be something Canelo wants he can shoot for undisputed at 175, maybe cruiser run later....

Anything can happen but he didn't seem real interested when last questioned about, now fight fighters have to be a cuck to get a fight with him apparently. If you say something negative it'll hurt his feelings and you won't get the fight after making him wipe his tears with hundred dollar bills as he...Teetotaler69 likes this.

The size difference would be the issue, if he beats Bud well he's a welter, if he loses to Bud then he lost to a welter. Canelo pretty much said that when asked about it, its very unlikely to ever happen and time isn't on Bud's side....

I like my boxers to live a clean lifestyle and be completely asexual where they do nothing but train and fight....

Its not his fault, but given the fact that he is in near obscurity he probably should have just smacked Spence around again, stayed on tv, looked good, made some money because that Canelo fight was never going to happen, the Charlo fight never happened, the Tszyu fight isn't going to happen in the immediate...

The old time fighters were tough rugged guys no doubt but just watch those films the skills was very lacking, life is cushy now a top fighter like Devin Haney never had to have a job just came up in the AM system and had from when he was a kid until now to worry about nothing but training and developing...

From what I understand Spence wanted it at 154 and Bud said nah, its at 147 or nothing as a tactic to discourage Spence from following through because at the time it was a waste of Bud's time....

As much as this section doesn't like it, many early 20th century fighters were essentially traveling hobos fighting for their next meal or booze money. They don't compare to the modern athlete, if David Tua fought in the 1920s-40s he would be undefeated world champion with close to a perfect ko%....Ascended likes this.

Couldn't Bud have just taken the fight at 154, grabbed a little more cash and probably another easy wash to stay relevant? In hindsight it would have been a better move given now he might be fighting a dangerous opponent in Madirmov....
