Hey, did you see the headline? A Mijares - Hasegawa fight is being planned. Any news about this over there in Mexico?

Damn, Mijares' loss to Darchinyan is shocking to me, even more so to the Mexican fans I guess. Librado Andrade was defeated by Bute due to that unthinkably unfair referee, which came to me as another shocking news.

Was anything reported about Mijares before the fight? Was he having a hell of a hard time making weight? Was he not in good shape because there were only two months to prepare since his previous fight? Is Fernando Motiel interested in fighting Darchinyan? Man, so depressing weeks...

Oh, is it you? What happened to your name of ElGranLuchador?

Anyway, If you are curious to know how I feel about Aoh - Larios, I tell you what. Aoh is a southpaw coutner puncher who also has good foot speed. However, he doesn't take the shot. His chin is far from granite. While he fought Umezu for the Japan featherweight championship, he defeated Umezu, but Aoh had a hard time. When he defended his title against Ueno, of course he successfully defeneded it, but once again he had a hard time. Both Umezu and Ueno were the kind of fighters who give their opponents constant pressure, and Aoh is the kind of guy who tends to retreat agaisnt a tenacious fighter.

Aoh recently commented; "I won't outbox Larios. Instead, I'll come forward and keep throwing punches from the opening bell. If he comes, I'll push him back." I'm not sure if Aoh is serious. Many Japanese boxing fans don't believe that he is capable of withstanding Larios' constant pressure and barrage of punches. If Aoh said, "I will dance in the ring and Larios won't be able to touch me" or something along that line, then I would pick Aoh to be the winner.

I saw Larios' last two fights, which got me thinking that Larios was no longer a warrior that he was when he was a super bantamweight champion. Yet, he still has what it takes to fight in contention. He is a brave fighter with the heart of a lion who doesn't know to quit. He has had his share of experience of fighting in Japan. According to JP sports media, Larios seems to be in good shape physically and mentally. Jorge Linares will sit at ringside to root for his gymmate Aoh, which will set Larios on fire I guess. My pick, Oscar Larios, KO, early rounds.
