I'msure we could have a debate on technical data (say punctuated equilibrium versus darwinist natural selection) but if we tried that on this website it would go like this:
Me: I think it needs to be recognised that the rate of mutation is, over time, relatively uniform...
You: Yes, but the fossil record clearly shows that the rate of EVOLUTION, at least in an adaptive sense appears in stops and starts
Me: It's true but then the question is, exactly what do we mean by evolution? Are we purely talking about Darwinian selection or do we count drift and sexual selection as major forces? Plus the fossil record is far from complete enough to make those kinds of conclusions...

Thanos did erase an entire universe, but he ultimately rewrote that wrong, by changing the whole scenario and undoing it.
