Well...another five months without baseball. lol Congratulations to the Giants. They deserve to be champions. I don't think many people expected them to go all the way. You always have to respect a team that comes back the way they did versus the Cardinals. They could've curled up and died, but they fought the whole way and now they're on top of the world.
Yes, sir. Absolutely none of the teams I was pulling for made it past the first round. I finally got a little satisfaction when San Fran won, but now I'm rooting for the Tigers. Now it doesn't look good for Detroit. lol
Baseball can be weird that way...very streaky sometimes. But I knew it was over when Jeter broke his ankle. The guy is the heart and soul of that team. This might sound weird, and I've had fellow Yankee fans flame me for this, but I get a little bored of winning all the time. I'm not trying to be funny or anything. I actually like getting interested in the fortunes of other teams sometimes, as long as they're not a team I despise (like Boston). I can take a few years between World Series wins; it makes the victory so much sweeter. In the end, I'm not just a Yankee fan, I'm a baseball fan.
Wow, I'm impressed. Must really be in the minority as a baseball fan in the UK. The Phils have always put together good teams. I used to like them back in the seventies, when they had Schmidt and Luzinski. They really took the team apart this year. They might be out of serious contention for a while, but they'll be back.
lol No, actually I've been a Yankee fan since 1976. I have Cespedes's picture in my sig because he's Cuban. But I have a soft spot for the A's 'cause they were my first team. I became a baseball fan in 1974, when Oakland won the World Series versus the Dodgers. I was just a kid...still remember Reggie, "Campy", Sal Bando, Gene Tenace and Rollie Fingers. I even remember not knowing what the hell was going on! lol Oakland's one of those teams I root for, as long as they're not playing the Yanks.
