  • Hennessy keen to continue Froch-Calzaghe talks

Given the lack of clarification on the terms of Frank Warren’s offer for British and Commonwealth super middleweight champion Carl Froch to challenge WBO champion Joe Calzaghe, Froch’s promoter Mick Hennessy has tabled a proposal of his own to stage the all-British super fight on a Hennessy Sports event either this July or September [details]

The offer from Warren is to have options on Froch if Froch loses!

That's pretty damn fair actually, if Froch is so confident...

I think Froch will take it! Infact, I know he will.

This would be a great fight for British boxing, but it's a lose-lose situation for Calzaghe, even if he wins fairly easily, a lot of boxing fans, especially from the US, will claim Froch was overhyped and not a legitimate top fighter.

I want to see this fight. I really want to see this fight. Who cares what the US thinks? They aren't exactly producing great Supermiddleweights, are they?
