After weeks of searching I finally found somebody close enough that I can train me. He trains out of his garage right now though. Im not sure if its a bad thing, but the gym he used to be at turned into a baseball training center, so I think its just for a short time. Ive heard hes a great trainer and he trains golden glove winners so I should be in good hands. I start tomorrow at 11 am. Im nervous as hell because I feel like Ill be the only novice there, but hey I gotta start sometime.

The fees are 50 dollars for three sessions. Is that expensive? When looking for gyms, I found out Riddick Bowe trains fighters in a gym like an hour from me. I thought that was interesting, and I plan on moving that way in a couple of years so maybe one day Ill be able to learn some things from big daddy.

Its around York County and Hampton. Hes probably just charging that much because theres not many other gyms in this area. Boxing is popular across the water in Va Beach in Norfolk, where Whitaker came from.

Well, I just got back, and I liked it a lot. Im not gonna lie, when I heard he trained out of his garage, I thought it might not be the real deal, but hes a good trainer.

I started out learning how to wrap my hand then I put the gloves on and he told me to hit the bag for 3 min. straight just doing what I know. Im in bad shape right now so those 3 min. were the longest 3 min. of my life. I did my thing, and after I was done he told me he was impressed with my left hook and speed. He said I had a good left hook for someone who doesnt know any of the basics. Of course I was off balance and had my hands low though. Then from there I learned the one, two, and three. I have so much more respect now because the smallest things like holding my elbows in, sliding my feet, and snapping my jab were all difficult at times. I finished up with three 2 min. rounds hitting the bag focused mostly on technique. I think I got my moneys worth.

Off topic, he also said the only type of guy that could beat Mayweather would be a puncher with an awkward style. He said Hamed would have given Mayweather hell.
