View Full Version : Wii
Who here actually owns one?
What do you think about the controller?
I own a 360 and could picture going from playing that great machine, to playing the Wii with what is in my opinion a intersting twist on the regular controller format, but would get old sooner then later.
I basically just want some feedback since I haven't actually got to use one.

i have had my wii for over a week now and cant get enough of it
the controller is great and adds so much to the gameplay.the possibilities for games designers is mouth watering.
the only drawback with the controller imo is the battery life i went through a 24 pack of double aa batteries in about 3 days.
im enjoying the wii more than i enjoyed the 64 when playing goldeneye and that to me says something

my cousin who was a die hard playstation fan is now getting a wii after playing mine. i eventually had to throw him out of the house because he would never have left.
the controller is so comfortable and there are a number of different ways to use it. if you still have doubts, you could always get a wii with the classic controller

I knew it had different controller options, but I didn't know you could strickly use the stand controller for lets say the Zelda **** where you've have to use the controller to do the slashing motion.
I plan on going to best buy later after this ***** gets here with my ****, I'm going to play on the demo, and I might scoop one up.
I'm just a huge fan of the 360 that I have, so it's going to be totally diffferent experience.
Thanks for the input, for real.

You are saying a mouthfull there buddy. Goldeneye on the 64 was the best first person shooter ever. I lost jobs because of that game.

exactly!
i enjoyed that game more than any other and spent months playing it. but i am enjoying the wii just as much if not more.
Ash-Mckean 12-17-2006, 11:26 AM Im not a fan of Nintendo but yeah Goldeneye was an amazing game and enjoyable but i only enjoy gamecubes and Wii if there is a few mates round so you can have a bit of fun.
Golden Eye was the ****.
Now thats some real child hood days there.
Anybody else have a opinion on the Wii?
-Antonio- 12-25-2006, 03:48 AM This ranks right up there with Madden, Mario, Pokemon, Goldeneye, and Wrestlemania 2000 as the most fun I have had playing a game. I played the bowling, tennis, and boxing game for four hours straight. Im going out and getting atleast two games first thing Tuesday morning.
Ive been thinking of how much fun the sports games would be with this. Eventhough the boxing game is fun, I can only imagine how incredible fight night would be. Basketball games with actual dribbling and shooting motions. They already have the Madden which I will checkout soon. Super Smash Bros. will be amazing as well.
skyler 12-25-2006, 12:50 PM I dont have a Wii myself, but i whent over a mates house today and he had just got one for christmas, and i must say im very impressed, never really liked nintendo but i think after playing it my next console will be the Nintendo Wii for sure.
And its really cool how its more pyhsical to use rather then just sitting in a chair with controller in your hand, you actually have to perform all the movements, they really did make it unique with the virtual controller, rather then just having better graphics like the ps3 and xbox 360..
I really only played the boxing which was pretty cool, was amazing how it did exactly what your hand movements were, and body motions.. i can just imagine how crazy it would be having fight night for the Wii, fighting for belts and training/sparring would be awsome.
LHWchamp5 12-26-2006, 01:49 PM Played wii for the first time last night and nintendo hit the jackpot with this..
i'm an older guy and though wii is directed to a younger audience i just coudnlt get enough.. great party thing and my 6yr old nephew was undisputed champ in bowling, great times lastnight.. for $300 deffinatly cnat go wronng.. every fat kid should have htis system... I actual;ly woke up sore today frome the boxing game....
From what i undersand the controoller/nunchick acts as a memory card as well.. think i'm gonna get one.
amaru 12-27-2006, 10:41 AM ive got a wii, in fact im typing from it right now as im browsin this site from my wii. gettin a wii is the best decision ive made, its got great games and the controller adds to the gameplay. pick one up if you can, believe the hype.
-Antonio- 12-29-2006, 10:09 PM Im stuck on Zelda trying to catch a fish. Its a pain in the ass.
Shanus 12-29-2006, 10:45 PM I've heard that the Wii controllers aren't as sensitive as people had hoped.
Easy-E 12-31-2006, 02:58 AM Ive heard Wii is fun and a nice change, but its not even comparable to 360.
-Antonio- 12-31-2006, 09:26 PM the 360 is probably better right now. The Wii needs more games.
