Theyre using the same rules as in the film fight club I think. But no strikes to the nose or groin. How far do you think they will get lol.

The first day either they'll puss out and go about 10% or someon's gonna go to the hospital.
Regardless, it's not something worth getting involved in.
if you're going to fight without protective gear you might as well get paid for it.

Exactly, you might as well get paid to get busted up. Someone can get hurt badly with those kinds of "events".

i should give a disclaimer, i'm the kind of guy that hates to go hard at the gym. if it's someone coming in from an outside gym, fine, i'll try to knock the guy out, but my normal buddies at the gym I don't feel like putting the hurt on even if they're trying to drop me. i'd rather just not spar if they're too hung up on proving their dominance to be willing to work with me.

i don't feel that taking regular asswhoopings necessarily makes you better. You just learn how to take an asswhooping a little better; but you've only got so many big asswhooping's you can take in your boxing career- why waste them in the gym?

i've noticed the guys that like to go bawlz out in the gym tend to only get better if they're the ones dealing out the asswhoopings- but even then the hard shots they take still accumulate and a lot of times the injuries prevent them from even competing, let alone competing at their best.

sorry for the rant, i had a bad spar with my friend from the gym last night who seems intent on hurting me. I've got a few new lumps on my skull from his elbows. I just don't appreciate guys who coerce you to "working" with them under the guise of "going light" but then take the smallest, most thinly padded gloves they can find and try to drop you- even resorting to elbows to the skull when you go for a clinch.

Hell, tell them to make it a really good time and change the rules to face and groin shots only, no bodyshots. If they are silly enough to copy a film, why not.

my friends have their fight club too, but they use the rules of boxing sparring (just no groin protector).

I dont know if thisll happen. I heard them talking about it. Like Someone said, When they get hit full pelt in the face I think they may change their name. Bad if they take a hit and the mouth and lose their front teeth

but no gloves, or even mouthguards? how old are these morons anyways? if they are adults, there might be some more serious laws that they could be breaking, not that i personally care about many of the laws out there. but, they might want to check out the legality of a full out fight club before the cops swarm on 'em full force.

i would bet on this as well. what i have also seen a lot of are people who act tough and eventually get into some type of fight training with sparring, and eventually lose interest as it is not what they expect - they find out that they don't do so well against trained fighters.

this fight club idea, is not the smartest. it is smart that you are not going to get involved. even though it may be entertaining, you may not even want to be around in case the fuzz come rolling up.

theirs some gr 10's at my school who have a fight club...its kinda sad to watch as two people flail at each other for a couple of minutes not really landing a shot then getting suspended later during the day. Then you have the odd person who can fight against a flail and they end up going to the hospital. I personaly think its stupid and i have alot more fun in a boxing gym

Some fights arent avoidable. You always get that one guy who is just set on beating your ass. Then when you whoop his ass to the ground and hes siitting there wondering what the **** happened, it really is worth it sometimes. But no i dont go looking for fights, but if one comes to me i wont back down.

Some of my friends tried this....there big UFC fans...It lasted about a day. They realized that walking around with a fat lip and a swollen eye for nothing isn't all that fun...or attractive!.....bunch of pendejos! lol
