no wonder he won't accept Wanderlei Silva's challenge. Silva just called him out in Las Vegas for the second time and Chuck has not replied once again.
Hate to say it but some people in the MMA world think Chuck is scared.
American_Ninja 11-20-2006, 08:42 PM No way is Chuck scared. When was this Pride fight? Isn't the other guy in UFC now?
the giant one 11-20-2006, 09:01 PM this was like 3 years ago.

It was about 2 or 3 years ago and Jackson's last fight was in the WFA.

I dont think I've seen a WFA fight. Pride and UFC. Bushido.
Pride has some pretty long rounds, 10 minutes.

that's rampage jackson he was fighting. this fight took place quite a while back. before this chuck took out overeem and mezger, i believe. but jackson completely owned him this fight. you should get some hilights of quinton, the guy is a beast, what he lacks in technical wrestling skills he makes up for in raw power, the guy is notorious for brutal slams. unforunately, he's past his prime, and hasn't been lookin' to good every since wanderlei ruined him.
strange you've never heard of quinton before, he was one of the poster boys of pride's 205lb division.
the giant one 11-20-2006, 09:41 PM jackson is on the comeback trail still after the beatings he took against the Chute Box boys in PRIDE but his win over Matt Lindland in WFA was a nice start. Id love to see him in UFC to go after Chuck again.

My first exposure to MMA was back when Royce Gracie won it 2 yrs in a row. At the time I was purely a boxing fan. I've just recently really got into UFC. I truly enjoyed watching GSP destroy Hughes. Looking forward to Liddell knocking out Tito, again. :D
LHWchamp5 11-20-2006, 10:34 PM how the **** is chuck ranked #1 by mmaweekly?? he hasn't beatin top competition besides couture and got smoked by rampage when top 3 was being sorted out in that gp.. liddell is lucky to be top 20 that's after guys like randleman whom did beat cro-cop :) yah my logic is just as dumn as mmaweekly.. go tell them..

Supreme84 11-21-2006, 01:06 PM mmaweekly rankings are bull****.
SHOGUN should be ranked #1
the traveler 11-21-2006, 05:50 PM Thanks for this nearly 5 year old video. Really, thanks.
Supreme84 11-21-2006, 08:49 PM more like barely 3 years old you ***got
outofit 11-27-2006, 06:22 PM dont think that is the same liddell i've seen. There were glaring weaknesses in that fight that i haven't noticed him do since (lazy jab, not fighting while backing up, and backing up straight) Liddell at #1 is not so far fetched to me he's pounded out everyone to fight him lately. Who's going to beat him?? vanderlay perhaps, and thats a maybe, who else?
nfc90210 11-30-2006, 09:50 AM how the **** is chuck ranked #1 by mmaweekly
Liddell's record since losing to Jackson has been good and he has beaten some great fighters. A lot of the guys have been good matches style-wise for him, but that doesn't dimish the fact that over the past five fights he has beaten some very good fighters, and has looked very good doing so.
In Liddell's last five fights he has beaten Sobral, Couture, Horn, Couture, Vernon White and Tito Ortiz.
Renato Sobral is a class fighter. Sobral made a bad mistake against Chuck and paid dearly for it. However he is a great fighter. Judging him on that fight would be a mistake. Check Sobral's record. He's the real deal.
Couture is Couture.
Horn is a great fighter, and one of the most experienced guys out there. He is too small to fight at 205lbs and should be at 185lbs but he is always dangerous. He is a tremendous fighter. However, his main flaw is that by his own admission he has, “****ty wrestling”. Stylisticly Liddell is his nightmare opponent. Liddell was a four year starter at a division one wrestling school and has great takedown defence.
Couture is Couture.
Vernon White has been around forever. He might not be a world class guy, but he is one of the best examples of a guy who is much better than his record suggests. A lot of Vernon's losses occurred in Pancrase back in the mid-nineties. White is a tough B level guy who can give anyone a run for their money.
Ortiz is a world class guy. That might be a controversial statement but it's one I would stick to.

The WFA fight between Lindland and Jackson was a very good, very close fight. I haven't re-watched it yet, but at the time I would have given the decision to Lindland.
It can be watched at the link below.

Also the two fights Jackson had with Wanderlei Silva
Note: The first Rampage/Silva fight happened at the same show as Rampage/Liddell. It was part of the middleweight grand prix (Pride call their 205lbs division middleweight). The semis and final were fought on the same night. Rampage got to the final by beating Liddell. Silva got there by beating Hidehiko Yoshida in his semi-final.

Other than a TOURNAMENT loss to arona(whom he fought soon after and beat for the MW belt) the only guys wandy has lost too recently has been HW's one (mark hunt had approx 70lbs weight advantage) and the other guy(cro-cop) is a top ranked HW.. How the **** is chuck liddell ranked higher than wanderlei??
If you do MMA math(lol) you'll see chuck and arona should be tied for 4th after a 3rd ranked rampage and a second ranked shogun, leaving wanerlei#1...
Listen rampage TKO'd chuck and KO'd arona.. He's ranked higher than boththose fighters..shogun ko'd both arona and rampage but won't challenge for the belt, wanderlei whoooped rampage not once but twice, lost too arona once but redeemed that loss with a win soon after....
Wanderlei - beat 2of4 fighters mention above with a total of 3wins out of 4 fights (he beat rampage twice, arona once and lost to arona)..
Shogun - has foght 2of 4 fighters as well and has 2 KO wins over arona and rampage. He is 2for2 but WILL NOT challenge for the belt.
Rampage - is the only fighter to have fought all of the above competition with a totall of 5 fights with 2 wins thus he's 2for5 (he beat chuck and arona, lost 2 wandy twice and shogun once.)
Arona - has fought 3of4 fighters with a total of 1 win out of 3 fights..(he beat wanderlei once, lost too wanderlei and was ko'd by both rampage and shogun.)
liddell - has 1 fight with the competition and lost.. He is 0 for 1..
(liddell was TKO'd by rampage)
MMA math can work with a proper formula
How is chcuk ranked higher?? against other lower ranked fightes he looks good.. but against the top competition the numbers and records speak for themselves..
Supreme84 12-08-2006, 10:20 PM PRIDE fighters have been whooping on UFC fighters for the past 3-4 years now.
PRIDE has by far the better talent. UFC just has a better tv deal so they get more exposure. PRIDE is way better though.
flipside 12-10-2006, 08:41 AM just saw a video of rampage getting ktfo in pride i think it was from 2005 the open weight tourney :D
