I've read Siddhartha and the thousand orcs.
Read some Gemmell or George RR Martin, I think they are all together better than salvatore for the fantasy genre.

Get waylander or Legend by Gemmell, good books to start on by him

Martin is a commitment each of his books are long, but worth it. Get A Game of thrones by Martin.
