what if theres no more don king, would there be an undisputed heavyweight champion? how good would this be for boxing, or would it be bad for it. i really want boxing to be without don king, this guy is always making news on how he robbs his fighters, yes he has produced some of the best fights, but i really want to see an undisputed heavyweight champion, if hes gone, hope no 1 else tries to pick up where he left off

p.s. sorry if this topic has been cover but i havent been here too long on the new forums

Stop the King

That title is a little misleading. For a moment there, I thought he got in an accident or something and announced retirement. But, I guess I was foolish for thinking he really is gone. :D

Hey, there's nothing about Don King that can't be fixed with a rifle, and a rooftop :)

no more don king?
when it happened, heavyweights is like unusual thing. promoter like don king, respects by the million but not who have a sense that he smuggled the right of a boxer bartering influence for popularity. the audience itself believes without don king there is no undisputed heavyweights,no excitement, :boxing:.

It does seem like King has a negative hold on the sport and has for too long,I think its time for a new promoter to step up.

I believe the golden boy will become the top promoter when king retires.

Boxing would be better off without King. He is the reason many great matchups in the last decade or more never happened. He protects his fighters from anyone who may be able to beat them.

King couldn't keep his head out of the camera tonight after the Brewster/Golata fight. The camera kept shifting angles and zooming in to cut him out, but he managed to get back in the picture each time. It drives me crazy when he does that.. I hate it!

But it was funny how Larry Merchant tried to change the subject each time Brewster started to talk about King.

one of the things I don't like about Brewster is how he talks about King. listen to all his post-fight interviews..
I think in one of them he says "praise Don King", which kinda scared me
LOL

Guys, just be patient. After waiting a few years, boxing will be get rid of him.
