That's not a sucker punch. The sucker is the guy who got knocked out....

It was a cheap shot and a douchebag thing to do. Although it was legal, fighters always touch gloves. I hope he's always known as a classless fighter by everyone that will fight him.

What a joke, it may be legal but thats just wrong, the guy just wanted to shake hands and he took a cheap shot.
When that guy recovers he needs a rematch

Itd be pretty funny if the rematch started/ended the same way. I could see that happening.

something like that really happened in a title fight ( middleweights) about a hundred years ago. the great stanley ketchel was defending his title in a rematch againt billy papke " the illinois thunderbolt ". before they touched gloves papke punched ketchel in the throat as hard as he could. ketchel came back later in the fight but lost by decision. later, in another rematch, ketchel destroyed papke and won his title back.

i know lots of u guys will say, it was a fair shot, even though technically the fight hadn't started yet, but i think, and this is just my opinion, billy papke was a lowlife piece of **** who couldn't beat ketchel unless he cheated. papke later shot his wife in the head and then himself

Its fair, completely llegal and legit. When the bell rings the first thing that you do is protect yourself, unless ofcourse its the last round where the ref orders you to touch gloves.

I was taught early on in the pros about that. The first day that Im with my trainer he tells me not to touch gloves in the beginning of the round in sparring. I ofcourse being a gentleman offer my glove at the beginning of the first round and BAM!!! The guy unloads a huge shot to the face. From that point on, sparring or fighting I never touched gloves unless ordered to by an official.

That was no cheap shot. So don't blame the fighter who actually listened to the refferes commands when the ref told them, to "come out fighting at the bell."

Boxing ain't for the weak minded. You want to shake hands AGAIN, then go play basketball.

man the guy came in with his chin on a platter fair enough if u want to touch gloves but he came strolling in like he wanted a peck on the cheek and a dry root. at least be a little wary. i still think the other guy is dirtier than a whores cunt for doing it but what can ya do.
