I am super sore from using them...It was so nice to work on crosses and upper cuts. What are your opinion on them? and do any of you have a routine you would like to share?

Double jab hook to jab hook cross. Jab hook cross to jab hook hook cross. From there, you start with the bobs and weaves... jab hook slip hook cross, jab hook cross slip hook, etc etc. Keep it progressive. Give yourself time to rest every couple minutes, and throw each punch like it counts. Don't cheat yourself. It has alot to do with how you wrap your hands, the weakest part of your hand and wrist is the area below your pinky and around where your wrist starts. Every time id hit the mitt it would bend and shoot pain through my whole wrist and forarm, best way to fix that is to wrap your hands properly. Kenny Weldons learn to box tapes cover it very well in the first video and since wrapping my hands right my hands are doing alot better. handjobs4dollars 12-24-2002, 01:06 AM I just have someone hold them up and always have them moving so I don't do any routines with them. While there moving and i'm punching, I try and shoot in and take them down. The guy with the mits, defends the takedown. So both of us are getting a skill. Instead of just one of us. Its hard as hell, defend with those mits on. Kempo Chris 12-29-2002, 05:00 PM Focus mits are great they are a necessity to anyones training You can use them like you are almost sparring I do rounds with a partner or sometimes i just i have someone hold for me for like 30 mins. ThaiBoxer™ 03-06-2003, 09:14 PM One Thai pad and one focus mit is a handy trick I learned from the Thais. But the Thai trainers I worked with mostly used two Thai pads, just like boxing focus mitts. I love working Thai pads, a little less so on focus mitts. vBulletin® v3.7.1, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
