How many people rate the ring magazine as being a good authority when it comes to ratings and the champs they pick.
Do you think it's needed, are they just feeding to the confusion or is it one of the best things for fighters to aim for being the ring/peoples champ.

Even if it ain't a governing body, I still think that's it's a respected and recognized belt. It's not teinted with these rankings and ****. It's basically who is considered teh best by the people. Recognition belt...

Even if they aren't official, the Ring Magazine is not affected by the bias and they do know what they are talking about.
Plus their belt is the only one seen in the Rocky movies.

I agree; they base their ratings, etc. on what each fighter has accomplished lately instead of how much money DK throws around.

The Ring belt is NEVER going to replace the other belts. I try to look at it more from the fighters point of view and not the magazine or other media's point of view. I have never heard one fighter say that he is fighting and training his ass off for The Ring belt. They will gladly take it but it is not what they are shooting for most of the time. I don't like how the sanctioning bodies are doing their ratings but I have never heard a fighter say he doesn't want to be a champion of one of those sanctioning bodies. Nobody can tell me that those belts are worthless and that the boxers themselves don't care for them unless of course the are stars who can make money without them. Even then they wanted to be a champion before they became stars and fought for those belts.

Ring Mag Belts may not be the official belt but it is highly regarded as the true champion's belt, remember the acknowledge best feather of 2003 Marco Antonio Barerra has no Alphabet Belts but was the People's Champion by beating the best fighters of the feathers, not until he was beaten by PacMan he lost the tile as the best feather weight.....

What he said.
the ring is tight! For anyone who doesn't like it they should just go hang out with Don King and devise ways to get alaphet champs and wothless number 1 contenders title opps.

It's a shame it can't be recognized more.
it will never happen. Got news for you, fighters LIKE all of these sanctioning bodies & belts.
As cheesy as we all know a lot of them to be, to a fighter they mean more money.
