I am a huge Vlad fan, and after the TOS I was glad he got a win despite the poor ending. But after much thought and reading some other comments I am afraid he may be done as an A+ heavyweight. Someone said he just isnt beltholder material and they may be right( WBO is a minor league belt). He barely beat TOS and was pretty busted up after fight. Thats fine for a B level fighter, but not a guy who was a former gold medalist who beat byrd,mcline,mercer. He has had a bad year, losing to A TOTAL BUM brewster. Remeber this guy has beat no one till he met Vlad. Vlad was destroying him and god knows what happened, but he lost. No matter drugs, exhaustion, chin, whatever he lost. He lost to sanders. No shame in that except he was steamrolled.
No question he has great jab,hook of the jab, great counter right hand, huge overhand right.He showed he can pace himself. But I am starting to think he will be relagated to a B , B+ level heavy, but nothing else. Maybe I am wrong, but as a huge Wvlad fan we are lieing to ourselves about the future of this guy. Wlad is the third youngest heavyweight among the top 50 heavyweights. Wlad is not shot, but rather he has not even fully developed yet. His time will come in two or three years.

He has been having some rough times, but this is very good for him. These rough times should really serve him well. If he is a true worrior, he will learn from these bad times and will come back and rein in the good times!

Wlad will be the champion. We believe in him. The true fans never give up on their fighters, especially in bad times !

Only Time will tell if Wlad will be able to respond to the challenge to be great. Whitaker will be an excellent fight.

I don't see how he is going to be ready by December. That cut was nasty and would have a good possibility of reopening if he sparred with it. If the Klitschko camp is smart I wouldn't except to see him in the ring until February at the earliest.

I guess none of that applies to your boy Byrd, despite how bad he looked in his last two fights.

Byrd got fu**d up pretty bad by Wlad. I think he should retire. Comon now, losing to Wlad. :rolleyes:

I hate to say this, because he seems like a real gentleman but I'm not convinced he ever was a top 10 in the 1st place (by ranking sure). Lots of potential but never really translated it into meaningful results. People will argue this by sayoing well what about 3 years ago bla bla bla, lets be realistic if he can't hack the division right now then you have to question weather he ever really had the ability. I apreciate that Stewart has changed the way he boxes but I don't see this as being the contributing factor, mentally I think he is just short and I believe he has a bit of a glass jaw.

i dont think he is done. but then again, i thought he would walk through sanders and brewster(asterisk by the brewster fight, i dont care what anyone says. i have never seen anything like that.) however, i dont think he has a snowball's chance in hell to accomplish half of what Lennox did, and i HATE lennox lewis. it's sad but true.
