Both men in their prime how could you see a fight between Tyson and Louis going? Personally I'd have to say Joe Louis wins by KO in the mid-rounds.

louis was amore complete fighter but he never faced anyone like tyson and his chin is vulnerable

louis was a great fighter and if he could take tyson to the later rounds he would win but tyson is also capable of knocking j=louis out early

if louis could weather the early storm he would take tyson out late
however if mike connected early i dont see any way back for joe

Louis had a suspect chin, but Tyson lacked heart.

Louis had possibly the hardest array of punches ever, so I say Louis by KO in round 6.

Same feeling....

One problem is comparing eras...if Joe fought now, he could sharpen his defense, but we are not talking about that...

If Louis thought Billy Conn was fast, what would he think of a prime Tyson?

Tyson would've beaten him, maybe even by death..
Joe Louis was Tyson's size and he didn't like being swarmed.
Tyson would've taken Mr. Glass jaw out early.

Why does everyone hate on Tyson so much?

Most of the posters with knowledge dont hate Tyson because they do. Its because of some of the annoying fans.

Don't think you were referring to me, but just in case you were, I really have a lot of respect for a prime Tyson as a fighter, I just think Louis could've taken him.

I beleave that a fighters actions in the ring determine if e is good or not. Not his actions outside. I respect the prime tyson verry verry much but i think lous woould win this

Joe Louis was too smart for Tyson, Joe Louis had an amazing jab that would neutralize Tyson's offense in a way that nobody did... Louis by KO7 or later...
Louis can adapt to any fighting style... He proved that with a lot of his opponents... Dont make me mention them plz... lol

Watch Louis fight Galento. Galento was slow and ponderous, yet he still connected on Louis and staggered him. A finisher like Tyson wouldn't waste an opportunity like that.

Tyson could put Louis down, but not out. Louis would use his speed and great jab to his advantage, to pull of a late round KO/TKO or a possible UD.

This would be a great fight...till it got past round 8 or so (assuming it would). Then once round 8 hit , I can really see The brown bomber taking the win. Tyson does have the punchers chance in the first 5 round or so. Louis was a master tactician, and maybe able to figure Tyson out,...maybe. It would come down to combinations, because both had sweet, beautiful, and very very deadly combinations. I'd actually say Louis has the faster hands of the two (but not by much), and Tyson had the power (again not by much). I’d say in a trilogy Louis loses….the first fight, and wins the next two. Schmeling could of just got a “lucky hit”, because those do happen in this sport. Ole’ Joe was indeed “ole” when he fought Rocky, and in my opinion I think that “ole” had to do with his lose to The Brockton Blockbuster. Overall Louis takes it, but respects Tyson afterward. My 2 cents.

P.s First Post =) btw. I just want to say hey to M26, Butterfly, KidAchilles, and Yogi. I’ve been reading these forums for quite some time (3-4 months), and so far those are my favorite fellows! Hopefully I’ll figure this forum mess out (this is my first time messing with forums), and post more often!
