They are calle STIRRUP PANTS...and teh 80's would not have been the same without them.

As for the thong and levi's thing, I agree.....also, when wearing a thong under jeans it is NOT sexy to have it sticking out the top...no one wants to see your underwear (well, 'cept for guys) but they don't count in the world of fashion!
