i just got my Bas Rutten's MMA workout CD/DVD set.

http://www.basrutten.tv/product_info.php?pName=mixed-martial-arts-workout-cddvd-as-seen-on-extreme-makeover&cName=mma-workout&osCsid=2126ffb3fad4dd27060ca51e920acdbd

it comes with 4 audio CDs, (Boxing, Thai Boxing, All-round Fighting, All-round Workout)

i use the Boxing cd, track 2.

Track 1 is 10 rounds (2 min. rounds)
Track 2 is 7 rounds (3 min. rounds)

has anyone else tried it?

here's a sample: (the first round of the boxing cd, 3 min. round)

he says numbers during the workout, here's what they mean:

1 - jab
2 - jab, straight
3 - jab, straight, left hook
4 - jab, straight, left hook, straight.

every punch is supposed to be executed at full power.

it's for shadow boxing or heavy bag.

if shadow boxing, move around a lot.

let me know how your cardio is after 7 rounds of this. i was almost dead after using 16 oz. gloves on my heavy bag.

link does not work - for me atleast!

a damn shame because i am a huge bas rutten fan! a lot of us traditional MA guys love him. i love that he uses basically every type of attack possible in his fights - flying knees, heel palms, savate style kicks, ground fighting, etc. i've gotta take a trip out to see him one day. seems like a very personable guy. funniest mma guy by far and a REAL legend.

bas training kimbo:

his workout cd's are great-only if you are already experienced or have a good grasp of basics and can work. For beginners, they may be a good workout but a breeding ground for bad habits if done alone. After my old boxing gym closed down, I trained at a different temporary gym and was only allowed like 1 or 2 times a weeks and needed to get ready for a boxing match, kickboxing match, and an mma fight in the span of one month. I had used the cd's for the rest of the days I didnt get to go to the gym along with some other exercises and things turned out great as I won all three fights. Use them but they are not a replacement for a good coach
