So, get this. I just got home from taking my Visual Programming final, and I'm pretty sure I failed it. I had NO clue what it was all about. It was horrible. I have to take Visual Programming - Advanced Concepts next semester, and I'm trying to figure out how I'm supposed to do well in that class if I have no idea what is going on in the basic Visual Programming class. I've been racking my brain for weeks now.
This semester has really turned me against being a Computer Science major. I'm talking to another student about it now, and he's telling me not to worry about it. I'm thinking, dude, wtf? How can I not worry about it? My future depends on my education. And I'm beginning to wonder if I'm going to be happy with a degree in computers, if I can make it that far.
I just feel somewhat lost. I'm thinking if I don't catch onto the programming classes, that it may affect my future classes in Computer Science.
I'm just seroiusly thinking about changing my major, I just have no idea what else I want to do. I've already changed my major once. When I first went into college, I was a Psychology major. I loved it! It came so easy for me, and my grades were damn near perfect. I changed my major because I got to thinking, what kind of a job would I have around here with that type of degree?
I would still love to get a degree is something like that, I just don't know what kind of job I will be able to get around here, and that worries me.
I've also been thinking about something in Business or Finance. I think either of those would be great.
I just feel really lost and unsure of what to do.
Anyways. Thanks for reading and listening to me vent (for those of you who actually took the time to read this).
If anyone has any kind of advice, feel free to share, as long as it's worth my time. If you don't have anything constructive to say, then don't bother.
Thanks in advance.
BTW, blah@school.

Thanks for your useless bull**** Kaps. I'm sure you wouldn't have had any advice I could have put to use anyway.

No offense.
I'm irritable. :(

Take it from me Bella as I have had a few different jobs and studied a bit also...do what makes you happy. You work for way too long to be in something you dislike.

If you really liked Psychology and were good at it, look further into what you can do to make that work.

If you think finance or business is up your alley, give it a try. There is no rush, but don't just stay in something cause you think you should if you hate it

Bella, if you want to get into the business department but you like psychology, you can have your cake and eat it too. There are a lot of areas of psychology you can get into. You can do business psychology and that deals with helping the crazy business people come to term with their bull**** and stuff.

Psychology is something that should be able to get you a job.

There are people that will need that kind of help no matter where you live.

Even if you do study psychology, it doesn't mean that's your career... you can get into medicine, law (what I'm doing), teaching, social work, communication, the possibilities are endless.

Changing majors is no big deal. Do it again. Do want makes you happy and worry about a job later. Plus Waylander can take care of you.

Thanks guys. I just needed to ***** and get some things out into the open, and this thread helped a lot. ;)
I'm taking all of your advice into consideration. My dad and I are going to get lunch tomorrow and go up to the school. He offered to go with me, so I think I'll take him up on that. I'm planning on selling some of my books back and getting some class catalogs. I'll figure it all out eventually. My main problem right now is, I've already signed up for next semester's classes, and three different computer science classes. I can however, always drop them and finish up some of my core classes, but we'll see. There are some computer science classes I would like to take regardless of my major though, so I might stick with one or two of them.

my friend graduated from UC davis with his degree in CS. He can't even get a job anywhere. CS is no longer the HOT major since the market is flooded with candidates

Psychologists have one of the highest suicide rates in the country. Something to think about.

That's irrelevant.
