What was your favourite boxing moment of all time? Id say mine would have to be the time Prince Naseem Hammad was knocked down for the first time in his career, it really shut that big mouthed guy up, and i also love those Ali fights where Ali would KO his opponent in the round he promised to his fans "Not only do i win, i also pick which round KO them out"
PS: If any of you guys have a nice moment on video please dont be afraid to let me know :)

Toney knocking down Jirov in the final seconds of what should have been the Ring's fight of the year. Or Gatti's grimace as he broke his hand on Ward's hip. Or Ward falling to his knees onto the turnbuckle in the second fight with Gatti. Marciano knocking out Walcott. Dempsey knocking down Tunney. Tunney knocking down Dempsey. Oh man....There are so many more.

I really enjoyed the No Mas fight. I had been a SRL fan from early on and felt he really had a poor strategy against Duran in the first fight. I was pretty psyched to see my boy exact revenge, but I had no idea he would take away Duran's heart, soul, and dignity, along with his belt. :D

I gave away most and banked the rest.

Its difficult for me to watch a classic fight from the 70s and say, that, for me was a special moment. It might have been a great fight but i didnt witness the event live.
I think part of a experiencing a great moment is to be there for the whole event, the build up, the tension, the day of the fight.

It will sound kinda crap, but when Tyson fought Bruno to regain the heavyweight title, after being in prison etc, in England the build upp and hype was intense. I loved it. And to see Tyson win in style was great!
Nothing quite like a Tyson fight for excitment value. Back then anyway.

When Mayorga stuck out his chin against Forrest in their rematch, and against Tito.If Tito was to fight Mayorga at 147,it would of been a different story.

Definently, that was a great fight, and the tenth and eleventh rounds were great. Holyfield was like a machine man. I still watch that fight to this day.

when roy jones went up to heavyweight and won the title (a piece anyway). the first time in 102 years a former middleweight champ won the heavyweight championship.

yeah, a lot of people hate on him, myself included, but that was admirable. yeah he fought john ruiz, but still, he stepped up and fought a man 50 pounds heavier and gave him a lesson.

not only was it an accomplishment for roy jones but also for boxing. it brought a lot of much needed attention to the sport.

you're right it was 106 years the first time it happened. in 1897 fitzsimmons beat corbett. roy jones did it in 2003 making it 106 years since.

There are a handful of rounds from the Ward/Gatti trilogy that stand heads-and-shoulders above even other fight of the year candidates. I like to rewatch that trilogy; a friend made me a DVD.

springint down the road at 5 am in the morning shouting "world champ world champ unified world champ" when Lennox finally got the titles.

Danny williams beating mark potter one armed (he dislocated it in the fight). Closest thing to Rocky Ive ever seen :D .
Was screaming at the knockout for Danny, left uppercut did it, it had to be his left cos his right was dangling at his side useless.

Awesome heart.

that danny williams moment has to be recognised like JPW well done, forgot about that..

I am a naseem fan so the hype before his fights were special for me, it isnt really a moment, so sorry for saying this in this topic but the hype for barrera naz was the best i (personally) have felt

shamz its quite ironic what you said bout ali and naz,you enjoyed naz's first knockdown cos he has a big mouth. Naz had a very similar bravado to ali, both bigmouths, also you found it amazing how ali would say which round he'd knock the opponent out in and then would do it,you'll find that naz did that too ;)

My greatest moment...probably when tyson beat bruno

thanks mate no need for apologies, its all about what you experienced.

but it did make me laugh when Roach came out and said "Danny aint the bravest" :D

what a pratt. Probaly the bravest thing Ive seen in a boxing ring is williams battling for four rounds with a dislocated shoulder, which they popped back in 4 times, he did it 4 friggin times. It hurts man, I dislocated all my fingers at the same time on my right hand playing rugby and let me tell you it was ten times more painful than breakin my nose or collar bone.

how ironic that a twisted knee should be Roachs fighter's excuse on the night

When Pacquiao won over Barrera November, last year. I thought Pacquiao couldn't win over this talented Barrera, that's pretty amazing to me because no one ever believe he could do such a remarkable feat until the unpredictable happens! He didn't just win over Barrera, he demolished him! I like it best when Upset comes in boxing and Pacquiao has beaten Barrera here and make it one of the biggest upset in 2003!

1)Thrilla in Manila, being a kid during those time in Manila I did not know what the big fuzz before, during & after the fight but what I remember the whole country was tuned to this big event........

2)Hagler-Hearns, watching it live via satellite during my college days, we were on the edge of our seats, most of my pals & myself were cheering for the underdog Hearns, and the first round was maybe the best round ever in boxing history....

3)Sugar Ray Leonard-Roberto Duran 1 & 2, in high school, first time a placed a bet that I won and then loss, after those two bets these two fighter became my favorite foreign fighters along side hagler & hearns

Hagler, my all-time fave, putting Hearns down after the most intense fight in history.

The two times I've been to MSG to see Tito light things up.

Larry Holmes schooling Gerry Cooney.

Chavez dropping Taylor in the last seconds of the finest-fought fight I've ever seen between two fighters.

Tyson getting exposed by Buster Douglas.

Julian Jackson dropping a bomb on Terry Norris' chin.

Seeing Oscar DeLaHoya either faking, or really experiencing, intense pain from an arm punch to his side....showing him to be the ***** I always knew he was.
