right now i,m taking instint whey its the purest form of whey protien should i take it before or after i train?

Depends on what else you eat. Definitely after the work-out. Depending on your training experience, diet and weight, maybe prior to it as well.

After training, you've gotta re-build the muscle fibers, that's what protein does. Carbs are for "energy to burn", do some before training with a little stimulant. I like a drink called Cytomax before sparring and then a bottle of ABB's Blue Thunder after cause it has both protein and stimulants to keep me from wanting to go take a nap. LOL!!

I usually have a light dinner about 2 hours before training -- 500 calories or so, usually a Lean Cuisine, a glass of nonfat milk, and a slice of multi-grain toast. I eat a banana or a couple of pears in the car on the way to the gym, and slam about 50 oz. of whey protein as soon as I get home. Your mileage may vary.

The rule of thumb is Energy before, Protien after workouts. By energy I am talking complex carb. NO BS energy drinks I like freidycats aproach for me it's 3 apples 2 bananas 2cups milk blended about 45min - 1hr before workout
whey + fruit w/milk after.

About 1 hr before training a eat lighty, mostly brazil nuts, almonds, walnuts with a bananna or apple. I have a creatine drink just after this meal and take lipoic acid and l carnitne. On the way to the gym il drink some wheat grass juice.

Straight after training I drink whey protein mixed with water (mixing with milk slows the release of protein, makes the whey act like casein protein) I also add creatine,glutamin,chromium,taurine and linn, pumkin,sunflower and sesame seeds blended. Then I get home and eat about half an hour later.

Just thought this might help some1 and give them a few ideas.

i tried to belnd my protein with water once and it was absolutely disgusting. i HAVE to use milk with my protein

animal (meat) protein is far better than plant?(whey) protein.

dont be pussys, get some chicken, eggs, turkey and steak into ya.

Do some research before you say stupid shit like that, it'll save a lot of embarrasment!

Whey is from MILK, and therefore is animal protein. There's NOTHING that makes whey inferior to other proteins.

:werd: In point of fact, whey is the predominant protein in human milk. Which is why your body metabolizes it, best.

Plant proteins are better then anaimal proteins actaully. Top is quinoa.Most plant proteins are low in amino acids methinine and lysine, however beans and lentils r rich in methionine.

The best protein foods r not necessarily based on those which have the highrst protein in them. Pro and cons need to be taken into account. A lamb chop for example, has 25%of total calories from protein and 75% as fat, most is saturated.

Quinoa contains better quality of protein than meat.Also rich in fats, vitimuns, minerals and provides nearly 4x as much calcium as wheat, plus iron, b vittimins and vit e. Is also low in fat, provided essential fatty acids. Quinoa is about as close to a perfect food as u can get.
