Butterfly, for the record, I appreciate you posting all of these classics. This is the first time I've ever seen the Whole Foreman-Norton fight! Thank you and God bless. You're a good guy. :D

It's my understanding...or at least it's the rumour I heard, that Roman spit on George during or after the prefight introductions. Could just be a tall tale...I don't know; but it probably is the latter.

Why is Foreman v Norton up twice?

He didn't spit on him. He snarled at George contemptuously right after the staredown. Many people think that made Foreman angry and that's why George did his best to finish him in the first round, lol!

When you watch the fight in regular speed Foreman's right hand doesn't look that hard. After watching the replay, you see that he hit Moorer right on the button- A perfect punch!

Somebody else suggested it about a month or so back; but after watching and rewathing it...this might have been George's "Cleveland Williams".

Awesome thread. I dont see how anyone can rank Foreman anywhere outside the top 5 heavyweights of all time. His over~the~hill tenure from 1987 to 1997 is a hall of fame career in itself!!

plus he is not a drooling charity case like Tyson, Ali and Louis were after they retired. Go Big George!

have some respect. Tyson has never asked anyone for sympathy and admits he deserves the bad publicity, Ali although sick is a happy man who is anything but a 'charity case'. Joe Louis did require financial assitance, but thats only because the US govt treated him like **** and demanded ridiculous sums of tax dollars even though he made huge financial contributions during WW2.
